DISCOVER THE NEURODIVERGENT WORLD AND JOIN THE CHANGE

BE PART OF THE DIFFERENCE

WHAT IS PLASTIC LIFE?

THE DOCUMENTARY IN A NUTSHELL

A JOURNEY

A journey which shows you what it feels like to be Neurodivergent in a Neurotypical society. A film to make us reflect on who we are, our behaviors, truths, actions and daily existence.

We will structure the film so that you are involved in the daily life, work, struggles and challenges that the ASD characters have to face.
We want you to experience what it means to be Neurodivergent.

THE MESSAGE

Promoting diversity and the meaning of inclusion in a world seeking awareness, in an era with increasing attention to mental health and minority needs: Plastic Life is a beacon for those who are still searching for their identity and feel disconnected both physically and mentally. An in-depth look, uniting the voices of neurodivergent people and medical professionals, to create a supportive community and sense of belonging. A great opportunity for mutual understanding, waiting to be spread all over the world.

WHO ARE WE?

The title "Plastic Life" refers to the attitude of shaping oneself in order to fit into social norms and be accepted, and to the common practice of "masking".
It focuses on the Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults (what was formerly known as Asperger's syndrome), late diagnoses especially in females. The protagonists live in 5 different countries, to show the differences in knowledge, resources and approach according to the place of origin. A documentary created by people on the autism spectrum, to show the world through our eyes.

The Content

Plastic Life is a feature film about 5 autistic adults from different countries around the world.

The choice is based on the desire to represent the difficulties encountered in each country, based on the availability of knowledge and resources and what tools may be available to those in need.

THE TIME IS NOW

ONLY YOU CAN MAKE IT POSSIBLE

STOP THE STEREOTYPES

How to describe a color? How to explain all the nuances each individual color have? Scarlet, vermilion, crimson… Come on, it’s just red!

This reduction flattens its wealth, compresses everything into one category and everything in between conforms, until it ceases to exist. Life for the autistic is expressed precisely in those nuances.

A spectrum implies a variety, it cannot be described with a single image, with a single symbol, with a single voice, or worse, with its absence.

We have a voice and it is right that we use it to tell all the great variety of colors that characterize us.

The world is moving in this direction

Plastic Life stands out because it is produced by advocates, people who live the conditions dealt with by the documentary and gather direct experiences, on a topic of ever-increasing interest.

Diagnoses have grown exponentially in recent years, a lot of Neurodivergents struggles to find their place in the world, and Plastic Life aims to show different points of view.

The films and documentaries already on the market mostly feature males, school-aged or focus on a single protagonist. Plastic Life is about work, relationships, communication and the uniqueness that every individual has and should share in order to enrich each other.

WHY PLASTIC LIFE?

Because people need to know about Neurodivergence, we Neurodivergent people need our own “Bat-Signal” so we can find each other. We would all like a society that is more attentive to the needs of individuals and now also you can be part of the change.

«Listen. Life is hidden in the details. Fragments, small pieces. A sound, a smell, a color, a touch. You don't remember everything together. You remember the details. You feel them. Look. Take your time. Do not rush. Wait. I am here. Stop. What is time? What is the world? Who are you? Who am I?»
